The Clinical Dietitian plans and delivers nutritional
care to patients according to the physicians' diagnoses, performs as a member of the multidisciplinary care team, and
assesses patients identified at nutritional risk. Other responsibilities include instructing individuals and groups
on modified diets and eating patterns in order to effect change to improve or maximize health as well as acting as Nutritional
Services team member on the Ambulatory Diabetes Education and follow up program (ADEF) and the Cardio-Pulmonary Rehab Program.
The Dietitian will provide nutrition lectures as requested and establish policies and procedures to provide direction for
menu formation, therapeutic diet preparation and distribution, clinical nutrition standards, and clinical staffing and budgetary
needs.
Must be a Registered Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association as well as a licensed Dietitian with
the state of Maine. Experience is preferred.

Assistant Professor of Human Nutrition
Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition
The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition is seeking applications for a tenure-track 9-month assistant professor
position, 50% research, 50% teaching. The Department has undergraduate concentrations in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Food
Science and Food Management, as well as MS and PhD programs and a dietetic internship program. Doctorate in Nutrition or closely-related
field is required; RD desirable. Documented experience in Nutrition Science as related to prevention or treatment of
nutrition-related disorders. Research area focus in Nutritional Biochemistry/Nutrigenomics or Nutritional Epidemiology is
desirable. Postgraduate research experience with external funding is preferred. Excellent teaching and communication
skills are expected. The faculty member will be expected to build a robust externally-funded research program and teach
an undergraduate course in nutritional biochemistry, other undergraduate courses as needed, develop relevant graduate courses,
advise undergraduate and graduate students, direct research, and serve on committees, panels and boards, as required.
Starting Date: September 1, 2012. Review of applications will begin February 1, 2012 and continue until
the position is filled.
